What is Nico Hulkenberg's driving style?

It is a Smooth Oversteer/Understeer driving style. This is why.

A1GP Champion Nico Hulkenberg has always been known as a mid-pack competitor. However, he has recently stepped up to become a consistent fast-qualifier. This is due to his unique driving style and his adaptability. Let me explain.

Hulkenberg has driven many mid-pack cars, but he has managed to get the most out of them. He seems to be adaptable, also having driven for 7 F1 teams in the span of 14 years. Early in GP2 he was aggressive at the wheel, dancing the car around to stay on the grip limit. This resonated with his late 2000s F1 driving style, where he was also aggressive at the wheel. However, as the modern tyres required more smoothness his style no longer worked. Much like other drivers, he had to change his style to be smoother and kinder on the tyres. The soft tyres couldn’t be scrubbed too much at the risk of overheating and tyre wear. All of this has forced Hulkenberg to adapt quickly as we can see in today’s car.
