Giancarlo Fisichella: How to Master Smoothness

Giancarlo Fisichella driving style

What is Giancarlo Fisichella’s driving style?

Giancarlo Fisichella has a Smooth Oversteer driving style. He thrived when driving oversteery cars, and struggled when driving the 2005 Renault, which was plagued with understeer. Fisichella was extremely smooth with the car, turning in gradually and easing onto the pedals, to avoid upsetting the car. He would rarely slide the car around, liking to carry momentum in the corners. In comparison to Alonso, he would use the limit of the rear tyres more than the fronts. Alonso would chuck the steering into the corners, where Fisichella would smoothly load the tyres.

To understand how Fisichella mastered smoothness, we have to look into his cornering style.
